Very Basic BJD
I have made a very basic body blank out of green Styrofoam.
I covered it with stone clay and sanded... still need to make the joints and refine the edges as well as the hands.

Splitting hairs
Started on a mohair wig today. A little difficulty separating the wefts of hair. This wig is about half finished and is a grab bag mix of various brown shades wavy mohair.
Also started work on a third face.
Also sanded and finished the ears of the head. Still need to decide on facial coloring and her final hairstyle.

Progression
Today I sanded the slim face and added the eyelashes from behind the eye sockets. Instead of using pre-baked eyes I used the wet clay to make the eyes for this face. Tomorrow I will glaze the eyes after they have dried overnight.
Considering junking the other two prototype heads since I am fairly happy with this one.. Now to be able to reproduce the results faithfully.

A New Direction
I have paused progress on the set of four heads to attempt a different technique.
The carved out faces allow more access to the eye holes for shaping. This picture shows three different face templates. The first face on the far left is still wet and needs to be sanded. The second face is the prototype from yesturday's post and the third face is one that I designed.

New Recruits
Four new project kiddos. This time working with installing eyelashes before finishing. Since it was too difficult for me to install after the head was sculpted.

First finished doll
My latest hobby finally has a finished creation.
She has a wire frame covered with batting. Her face is paper-clay with sheep's hair.
She is still a little rough around the edges and I still need to work on feet and hands but not bad for a start.
